Elmira Earns First Conference Victory

Buffalo, NY -- The Elmira College Soaring Eagles Men's Volleyball team recorded its first UVC conference victory Saturday afternoon against SUNY New Paltz. The Soaring Eagles took the match in three straight sets, 27-25, 27-25, 25-23. With the win, EC improves their overall record to 3-5 this season and 1-1 in UVC play.

The Purple and Gold was by rookie Eric Sandmann '14 (Glenville, NY -- Burnt Hills). Sandmann recorded a team-high 16 kills for EC and 10 digs. Brayden Abby '14 (Sparta, NJ -- Pope John XXIII) held down the EC defensive effort also posting 10 digs. Michael Vellutato '14 (Topanga, CA -- Redondo Union) set up the win with 26 set assists and 2 serve aces.
