Endicott celebrates senior day with 3-0 win over New Haven

Beverly, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team celebrated senior day with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-18) win over visiting New Haven as it prepares for the NECVA Tournament this weekend. Zeke Kubisch (Bethlehem, N.Y.) and David Olson (Chelmsford, Mass.), who were honored prior to the start of the match, helped Endicott wrap up the regular season with a 23-12 record. With the loss, New Haven drops to 5-13 on the year.

Kubisch finished with four kills while Olson led all players with eleven digs. Kubisch became Endicott's all-time leader in matches played with 135, passing Dan Coleman '09, who had 134. The Gulls used a balanced attack in the win, as five different players tallied at least four kills.

Junior Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.) led the Gulls with eight kills while Matt Devendorf (Glastonbury, Conn.) chipped in seven. Junior setter Jeremy Schlosser (Emmaus, Pa.) dished out a match-high 19 assists in the win.

New Haven was led by Ben Hollies' (Seattle, Wash.) nine kills. Ryan Earl (Greenville, N.Y.) handed out 17 assists in the loss while Xavier Atienzar (Monroe, Conn.) logged a team-high seven digs.

The Gulls trailed momentarily in the early stages of game one before outscoring the Chargers 10-3 in the final 13 points en route to a 25-16 win. 

New Haven led most the way in game two and seemed poised to even the score at one apiece. Endicott finished strong and closed out the set with a kill by Joshua Bruno (Andover, Mass.), one of six on the day for the junior.

Set three featured back and forth play until the Gulls pieced together a 12-5 run to close out the match.
Endicott is seeded 11th in the upcoming NECVA Tournament and will face No. 6 Emmanuel on Friday afternoon. The winner advances to Saturday's quarterfinal round.
