#11 Medaille Wins Fourth Straight
(Greenville, PA) – The 11th ranked Medaille College men’s volleyball team made it four straight wins as they outmatched Thiel College (3-1); (25-21, 27-25, 23-25, 25-20) this evening in a non-conference road contest. The Mavs received strong play from a myriad of players en route to the win.
A trio of Medaille players put up double digit kill numbers. Leading the way was junior Nick Johnson (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) who posted a team best (15) kills, while also coming up with (10) digs and an ace.
Sophomore Erin Kelly (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) pounded out (14) kills and freshman Trevor Barrett (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home)(pictured) had a strong evening with (13) kills, (5) aces, and (3) blocks.
The Maverick offense was led by a pair of setters as senior Ryan Maxwell (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home)(19 assists) and sophomore Aaron Woomer (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale)(15 assists), shared the setting duties. Senior Dan Jackson (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) led the team with (12) digs in the win.
The Mavs improve to (14-4) on the year. They will head to Vassar College to take part in their second UVC Crossover Tournament where they will face Bard College on Saturday (3/5) at 1:00pm in their first match of the weekend.
