#10 Mavs Get Back on Track; Sweep Hilbert

HAMBURG, NY - The 10th ranked Medaille men's volleyball team got
back to their winning ways when they swept past Hilbert College on
the road (3-0); (27-25, 25-15, 25-13) this evening. The Mavs
got everyone involved in the victory as they improved to (8-2) on
the year.
In a balanced effort the Mavs were led by Trevor
Barrett who posted a match high nine kills while
committing just one error. He finished the match with an
impressive (.444) kill percentage. He also posted a match
high five service aces. Junior Bryan
Proch followed closely behind with five kills and a
(.333) hitting percentage. Meanwhile David
Riggsby set-up a team best ten assists.
Leading the way defensively for the Mavs was Zack
Beattie who came up with a match best twelve digs, while
both Erin
Kelly and Matt
Kremer each posted a pair of blocks on the night.
The two blocks by Kelly give him (200) for his career, which makes
him the fifth player in program history to reach that
milestone.
The win is the 100th team victory for the Medaille athletic
department in 2011-2012 which puts the department win percentage at
(.581) thus far. The volleyball team will get back to action
on Saturday (2/11) when they face both NYU and Vassar at Stevens
Tech. at 3:00pm and 5:00pm respectively
