Wentworth Breezes Past Lesley

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Dan Mulvey (Halifax, Mass.) had a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage, recording 10 kills on 10 swings and classmate Chase Meyers (Austin, Texas) added seven kills as the Wentworth men's volleyball team swept Lesley, 3-0, in an North East Collegiate Volleyball Association New England Division match played at Buckingham Browne & Nichols.

Christian Domingo (Los Angeles, CA/College of Canyons) and Zach Almeida-Beers each totaled six kills to lead the Lynx.

The Leopards set the tone for a difficult night for the Lynx by scoring the first four points on Ross Burdett (Needham, MA/Needham) serves, later using a 7-0 run to cruise in their 25-11 opening set win. WIT scored five of the first six points in Game 2, opening the set on a 13-3 run that featured three Mulvey kills. After a pair of Lynx attack errors, a Coerte Voorhees (Hopewell, NJ/George School) ace closed out another 25-11 win.

The third set started similarly, with WIT scoring four of the first five points with the help of four straight Lynx errors. Leading 10-6, the Leopards then did the same, committing four errors in five points that helped the Lynx tie the contest at 11-11. Trailing by two, Lesley embarked on a 5-0 run thanks to three straight Domingo kills, leading to a WIT timeout and a 19-16 Lesley lead.

The Leopards then got consecutive kills from Lowell Jesmer (Rochester, NY/McQuaid) and Jeremy Forgue (Mechanicsburg, PA/Chicopee) that tied the set at 20-20. Lesley's Tyler Reeves (Coventry, CT/Coverntry) skied for a kill to re-tie the set at 24-24, but a Lynx attack errors and a Myers service ace ended the Leopards 26-24 victory.
