York Splits Two Contests at CUNY Multi-Match
NEW YORK, NY– The York College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches at the CUNYAC multi-match held at Hunter College Saturday morning. York fell to host Hunter College 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-12) but rebounded to defeat Medgar Evers College 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-17).
Leading the way for York was freshman Terrence
Sutton who slammed a match-high ten kills in the win over
Medgar Evers, while serving up four aces. He also registered
four kills in the loss to Hunter. Freshman Ahmed
Helmi added eight kills against Hunter and seven against
Medgar Evers and Alex
Niles finished with five kills over Medgar and six versus
Hunter.
York's record now stands at 10-10 overall and 5-3 in the CUNY
Athletic Conference. They will host Baruch College on
Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
