Colonial States Athletic Conference Coaches Pick Cabrini as Favorite

Aston, Pa., - Cabrini College's volleyball team has been selected as the 2010 pre-season favorite in The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches' poll. Cabrini, the defending conference champion, received 10 of the twelve first-place votes for a total of 142 points in the poll. Cabrini rolled to a perfect regular season conference record at 11-0 in 2009.
“We are honored to be selected the preseason favorite in such a competitive league as The Colonial States Athletic Conference,” said head coach Eric Schaefer. “We are looking forward to the 2010 season.” The Cavaliers will be led by senior Stephanie Recklau, the 2009 CSAC Player of the Year and first team selection.
Neumann University finished second in the poll with 121 points. The 2009 CSAC Championship runner-up, Philadelphia Biblical University, finished third in the voting with 119 points, including one first place vote.
Baptist Bible College finished fourth with 109 points while Centenary College (89), Marywood University (73), Immaculata University (73), Gwynedd-Mercy College (68), Cedar Crest College (55), College of Notre Dame (41), Keystone College (33), and Rosemont College (14) rounded out the voting.
The CSAC Championships begin on Tuesday, November 2 and conclude on Saturday, November 6 with the championship game at the highest remaining seed.
