Chatham Athletics Announces New Addition to the Women’s Volleyball Coaching Staff

Chatham University Athletics Director, Amy Buxbaum, announced that Kristin Consuegra will be filling the position of head women’s volleyball coach.

Consuegra comes to Chatham with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (with an emphasis in public relations and advertising/media studies) from St. Vincent College as well as her Masters of Science Degree in Sports Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).

The North Huntingdon, PA native was a four-year starter as a member of the St. Vincent women’s volleyball team where she led the Bearcats to two consecutive ECAC Division II championships in 2006 and 2007 as well as to the American Mideast Conference North Division title in 2005. She also served as team captain during both her junior and senior seasons.

Consuegra was also an assistant women’s volleyball coach at IUP for two years and hopes to utilize her personal skills, experiences, and knowledge of the game to help to further develop the women’s volleyball program here at Chatham.

"We are very excited that Kristin Consuegra has joined our staff. Coach Consuegra brings great experience as a player and a coach. She has a true passion for the game of volleyball and for developing players. She is a great asset for our volleyball program, athletics department and Chatham University,” Buxbaum says.
