Stevens Secures Sixth-Consecutive Victory With Win Over SUNY Cortland
CORTLAND, N.Y.
(October 8, 2010) – The Stevens Institute of
Technology women’s volleyball team scored its
sixth-consecutive victory with a 3-1 (27-25, 25-11, 19-25, 25-19)
triumph over SUNY Cortland in the opening match of the Cortland
Invitational in Cortland, N.Y. With the win, the Ducks improved to
18-4 overall on the year, while the Red Dragons fell to 18-5 on the
season.
Stevens took a closely-contested opening set, 27-25, before
earning a decisive 25-11 victory in set two to take a 2-0 match
lead. The Ducks would drop the third set, 25-19, before closing out
Cortland with a 25-19 triumph in the fourth and final set.
The Ducks continue play at the Cortland Invitational on Sunday,
October 9 against Hunter College and SUNY Geneseo.
