St. Vincent College Selected as Top Seed in 2010 ECAC Division III South Women’s Volleyball Championship

CAPE COD, Mass. -- After finishing the regular-season with a
21-11 record, St. Vincent
College was selected as the number one seed in the 2010 ECAC
Division III South
Women’s Volleyball Championship. The tournament is an
eight-team field with
quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds.
In the first round contests on Wednesday, November 10, St.
Vincent (21-11) will host
Penn State Behrend (19-11) at 7:00 p.m. while the second seed
Swarthmore (19-11) will
face No. 7 DeSales (15-15) at 7:00 p.m. at Swarthmore. No. 3
Bethany (20-13) plays No.
6 Stevenson (25-8) at 7:00 p.m. at Bethany, and No. 4 Penn State
Altoona (21-11) will
take on No. 5 Moravian (22-11) at 7:00 p.m. in the No. 4/No. 5
match-up at Penn State
Altoona.
The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals and
finals on Saturday, November
13th at the site of the highest remaining seed. The winner of
St.Vincent/Penn State
Behrend will face the winner of Penn State Altoona/Moravian in one
semifinal, and the
winner of Bethany/Stevenson will play the winner of
Swarthmore/DeSales in the other
semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Saturday, November 13
for the
championship.
