Bubb Helps Elizabethtown Outlast Clarkson

Potsdam, N.Y. — A team-high 18 kills from
Holly
Bubb helped the Elizabethtown College volleyball team
outlast host Clarkson University 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 21-25,
25-22, 15-12) on the final day of the Clarkson Invitational
on Saturday.
The Blue Jays (15-8) and the Golden Knights (18-5) took turns
winning the first four games. The match came down the fifth game
where the Blue Jays were able to squeeze out a 15-12 win, thanks to
the team's eight kills and 14 attemps in the decisive game.
Bubb, who finished with two solo blocks, while assisting on four
others, was named to the All-Tournament team. Kelsey
Hayes also had a good day, converting 14 kills on 23
attacks for a .609 percentage. Hayes had two solo blocks of her
own, as well as helping out on four others.
Crystal
Agnew dished out 48 of the Blue Jays' 49 assists on the
night. Defensively, Katie
Gantz led the way with 23 digs, while Carolyn
Lukiewski chipped in with 21 digs.
As a team, the Blue Jays committed just 16 attacking errors to the
Golden Knights' 25.
The Golden Knights received 24 kills from Sara Artus, while Alison
Schroeder and Holly McDaniel recorded 26 digs each.
Elizabethtown finished the Clarkson Invitational with a 2-1 record
after falling to R.I.T and defeating St. Lawrence on Friday.
The Blue Jays are in action again on Oct. 13 at Thompson Gymnasium
for a Commonwealth Conference showdown with Lycoming College at 7
p.m.
