OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Sweeps of Oswego and Brockport in Pool
Play on Saturday improved the Fredonia State volleyball team to 8-0
in conference play. The Devils will play host to the conference
tournament in two weeks as the No. 1 seed.
Fredonia State opened the afternoon handling Brockport , 3-0
(25-23, 25-11, 25-21).
Jenna
Tatu (Tonawanda / Kenmore West) had nine kills and a
.500 hitting percentage for the match. Chelsea Senn
(Hamburg/Frontier) had eight kills and three blocks.
Jessica Ernstberger (Rochester/Greece
Arcadia) added 30 assists, two aces and two
blocks.
Defensively, Sarah Zureck (Lancaster/St. Mary's)
had 15 digs.
In a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-18)
win over Oswego, the Devils were led by Kaitlinn Erdmann
(Randolph/Randolph) with 12 kills and three solo blocks.
Tatu had nine more kills, and Jen Newhouse
(Amherst/Amherst) added five kills. Ernstberger was
credited with 28 assists.
Danielle McNeil (West Seneca/St. Mary's) had 16
digs.
The Devils will play host to the conference tournament Nov. 4th
through 6th. In addition to the Devils, Geneseo (5-3 SUNYAC) and
Buffalo State (4-4) will represent the West Division. from the East
Division will be Cortland (7-1), New Paltz (6-2) and Oneonta
(5-3).
