Cowgirls Sweep McMurry

ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team swept McMurry, 25-15, 25-16, 25-22 in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex.
The win was the 29th in a row at home for the Cowgirls and fifth in a row over its cross-town rival. HSU improved to 16-5 with the win and 12-2 in league play. HSU has a two-game lead over McMurry and Texas Lutheran in the ASC West with four matches to play, including a match at TLU on Friday. The winner of the ASC West will host the conference tournament in two weeks.
HSU came out and dominated from the start. In the first game HSU hit .250 and McMurry hit -.062. For the match HSU hit .270 and McMurry hit .010. HSU had at least 13 kills in all three games.
Madison Reyes and Christine Sas each had big offensive games for the Cowgirls with 14 and 13 kills respectively. Terah Brown led McMurry with eight kills.
Defensively, senior Gracen Harris had 20 digs in her final regular season match against McMurry. Sarah Anding had nine digs for McMurry.
McMurry fell to 13-8 overall and 10-4 in conference play. HSU has now won 13 of the last 14 meetings in the series.
