#19 St. Olaf Opens 2010 with Two Wins

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The 19th-ranked St. Olaf volleyball team won
a pair of non-conference, straight-set matches over Bethany
Lutheran and Hamline on Thursday to kick off the 2010 season.
St. Olaf def. Bethany Lutheran 25-22, 25-10,
25-16
Kim Smisek had 11 kills and 10 digs and Katie Wolfram 10 kills as
the Oles overcame a 22-16 deficit in the first set and defeated the
Vikings in three.
Maghan Houlihan had six kills to pace BLC.
St. Olaf def. Hamline 25-16, 25-10, 25-12
Smisek had 14 kills and Melissa Burch eight as the Oles rolled to
the win. Kelly Prunty added 33 set assists and Kristin Boyum 17
digs.
Hamline was led by Anna Murie and Aisha Baker, who had four kills
apiece.
St. Olaf finishes the two-day event tomorrow with matches against
Macalester (4 p.m.) and Martin Luther College (8 p.m.).
