Richard Stockton Downs Ramapo 3-0 IN NJAC Action

Mahwah, NJ: The Ospreys from the Richard Stockton College
women's volleyball team defeated the Ramapo College Roadrunners
tonight in NJAC conference play, 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-18). The
Ospreys improve to 11-3 overall and remain undefeated in the
conference at 3-0 while the Roadrunners fall to 6-2 overall and 2-1
in the conference.
Stockton came away with a 25-10 win in game one led by rookie
Kasey Hennecke (Fair Lawn, NJ) who tallied five kills on 11
attempts and three digs while junior Christine Velott (Moorestown,
NJ) added four kills. Senior libero Chrstine Astarita (Selden, NY)
posted a team high six kills in the game while sophomore Kate
Berninger (Midland Park, NJ) dished out 12 assists. The Ospreys hit
.385 in the game and went on a 13-0 run at take a 23-6 lead.

Ferrari (Marlton, NJ)recorded three kills for Ramapo and
three digs while senior Meagan
Taege (Manahawkin, NJ) tallied a team high six digs.
In game two (25-16), the Ospreys posted a 25-16 win as they were
led by Velott with four kills and six digs while junior Maura
Burke (Wyckoff, NJ) tallied three kills and there digs
for the Roadrunners. In game three the Ospreys wrapped up the match
hitting .256 to the Roadrunners' .085. Sophomore Stephanie Warner
(Totowa, NJ) pounded out five kills in game three on eight attempts
to hit .500. Velott tallied a team high five digs while Berninger
dished out seven assists and tallied four digs. For Ramapo, Ferrari
tallied a match high eight digs in game three as she hit .318 while
recording six digs.
For the match the Ospreys hit .284 while pounding out 48 kills on
116 attempts. Velott and Warner led the team with 11 kills each
while Warner recorded two digs and two total blocks. Velott posted
12 digs while Astarita collected a team high 15 digs.
Ferrari led the Roadrunners with 13 kills and nine digs while
Taege led the team with 13 digs. Junior Tiffany
Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) dished out a team high 23
assists and Burke ended the match with four kills and two
blocks.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to the Baruch
College Tournament this Saturday as they take on the United States
Merchant Marine Academy at 11:00 AM.
