Seniors Rally Wash & Jeff To 3-1 Win At Penn State-Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Senior middle hitter Courtney Sherwin (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) posted 13 kills and seven blocks to help Washington & Jefferson defeat Penn State-Altoona 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 24-26, 25-22) in non-conference volleyball action Monday evening at Adler Gymnasium.
The Presidents snapped a three-match losing streak and upped its season record to 3-6, while the Lions dropped to 10-9.
Senior outside hitter Courtney Holdrieth (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny) contributed 12 kills and 16 digs, while freshman outside hitter Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) added six kills. Freshman middle hitter Megan Lewandowski (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) chipped in with seven kills and six blocks.
Washington & Jefferson returns to its PAC schedule Thursday night when it travels to New Wilmington, Pa., for a 7:00 pm match at Westminster.
