The women’s volleyball team swept York College in three sets in a CUNYAC/Con Edison Women’s Volleyball Championship quarterfinal match played on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats recorded a .593 hitting percentage to win with a 25-9, 25-6, 25-11 score to advance to the semifinal round on Thursday afternoon at CCNY’s Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Bearcats (22-10) will play the #3 Lehman, which swept Staten Island this evening.

York season comes to an end with a 4-28 record.

Sara Stephani led the Baruch attack with nine kills by hitting a .900, while Megan Moody had eight kills hitting .667. Jessica Wu, the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, finished with seven kills (.700) and Michelle Stommes added six kills hitting .857.

Kate Rembas dished out 33 assists and totaled eight aces in the quarterfinal.

Stayce Kay Muirhead and Sharon Fordyce led York with four kills each. Pamela Yap finished with six assists and two digs.
