Bethel Blasts Past Carleton Improve to 3-0 in MIAC

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel Royals made quick work of the Knights on Friday evening, defeating Carleton 3-0. The Bethel women did not allow the Knights to score more than 17 points in any of their three sets.

With the win Bethel improves to 11-4 on the year and 3-0 in the MIAC. That is the best start for the Royals since 2007 when they got conference play started on a five game winning streak.

Carleton is now 1-2 in the MIAC and 10-5 overall. The Royals currently sit on top of the conference standing, with St. Benedicts and St. Thomas right behind that at 2-0 as the only other teams still undefeated in the conference.

Breaking down the stats, the Royals saw contributions as normal from their strong cast of upper classmen. Comparing the two teams the Royals dominated the offense as they finished the night with a .306 attack percentage to Carletons .090. As a team the defense also had an impressive night with 5 team blocks.

Bethel will continue in MIAC play next Wednesday as they host Augsburg. The Auggies are 2-1 in the MIAC and 7-5 overall in 2011.
