Cavaliers win third straight volleyball title
Radnor, PA: Top-seeded Cabrini College defated second-seed
Neumann University 3-0 to capture the 2011 Colonial States Athletic
Conference volleyball championship.
Championship match Most Valuable Player Danielle Carrozza led the
way for the Cavaliers, posting a double-double with 12 kills and 16
digs, as the hosts won by scores of 26-24, 25-17, and
25-21.
Alexis Doss posted 13 kills for the Cavaliers and Megan Ryan 12, while Sophia Sokolovich posted a match-high 17 digs. Neumann was topped on the scoresheet by 11 kills from Katelin Kuklentz and 12 digs by Victoria Limmina.
With the victory, the Cavaliers improve to 22-12, while the Knights fall to 22-13. The championship win clinched Cabrini's third straight berth in the NCAA Division-III national playoffs, and the site, opponent, and location of the Cavaliers' first round match will be announced on Monday afternoon.
