Crown Volleyball Under New Leadership

Kimmie Moehring, who has led the Crown Volleyball team for the past four seasons, has announced that she will be stepping back from her coaching duties to continue working full-time in the admissions department at Crown.  The athletic department would like to thank Coach Moehring for her dedicated service over the past four years.  Her compassionate leadership and guidance will be missed.

Despite losing its head coach, the program will maintain its stability with the announcement that assistant coach James Yang will be taking the reins.  Yang has been an assistant with the Crown volleyball program for the past three seasons, and brings a wealth of head coaching experience at the club level.  Coach Yang has been a head coach for High Voltage Volleyball Club, leading the 17U elite team, as well as head coaching responsibilities with the Armour Volleyball Club, and Waconia Junior Olympic Volleyball.

A graduate of Crown College with a degree in physical education, Yang was an All-Conference defensive back for the Storm football team, who worked in the athletic department as a student.

“I could not be more excited about this opportunity,” says Yang.  “It is my desire and commitment to serve and challenge these young women through the game of volleyball to fulfill the mission of Crown College.  Crown has been an exciting journey for me as a former student-athlete and now the head coach of the women's volleyball team. It’s an honor to serve the Lord using the gifts He has given me. I hope that our success is from His Glory and not of our own.”

The athletic department is excited to have Coach Yang on board and to see the positive progress of the volleyball team continue.
