Christina Nicholls Named D3VB Player of the Week
Secaucus, NJ (October 31, 2011) - Christina Nicholls (Austin, TX) of #6 Southwestern (TX) is the D3VB Player of the Week. Nicholls, a 5'8" setter, led the Pirates to four wins and their own home tournament last weekend. She was named to the All-Tournament Team and MVP of the event. At 28-2, Southwestern is currently in the middle of a 19-match win streak.
Nicholle double-doubled in each of the four matches this weekend, averaging 10.77 assists and 4.08 digs per set. For the year, she averages 10.73 assists and 3.2 digs per set. She currently ranks 14th in the nation in assists per set and has Southwestern at 6th for assists per set in the team category.
Nicholls, a senior, was a 2010 Honorable Mention All-American
and SCAC 1st Team All-Conference.
