Rebecca Kamp of Calvin Named D3VB Player of the Week
Secaucus, NJ (September 19, 2011) - Rebecca Kamp (Orland Park, Ill.) of top-ranked Calvin College is the D3VB Player of the Week. Kamp, a 6'2" middle hitter, led Calvin to a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Great Lakes Regional Challenge, including wins over #3 Wittenberg and #11 Heidelberg.
For the year, Kamp is hitting an astounding .435 while averaging 4.09 kills and 1.41 blocks per set. In the match against Wittenberg, she went off with 25 kills and 4 blocks. In the matchup with Heidelberg, she led her squad again with 15 kills and 4 blocks. For her efforts, Kamp was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Kamp, a senior, is a three time first-team AVCA All-American
and was the 2010 Most Outstanding Player at the Division III
National Championship Tournament while helping Calvin to its first
Championship.
