Ashley Coyle Named D3VB Player of the Week
Secaucus, NJ (October 24, 2011) - Ashley Coyle (Mt. Hope, NY) of #18 Cortland is the D3VB Player of the Week. Coyle, a 5'10" outside hitter, led the Red Dragons to four wins in conference play last week. At 33-1, Cortland currently leads the country in total wins and is second only to #1 Calvin in win-loss percentage.
For the year, Coyle is averaging 3.34 kills and 3.01 digs per set. In the matches last week, she totaled 35 kills and 42 digs in leading Cortland to an undefeated conference mark. Coyle and teammate Sheena Asibey both became members of Cortland's 1,000-kill club back on September 16th.
Coyle, a senior, was a 2010 Honorable Mention All-American and
SUNYAC East Division Player of the Year.
