Michelle Madeja Named D3VB Player of the Week
Secaucus, NJ (November 14, 2011) - Michelle Madeja (Naperville, IL) of #9 Carthage is the D3VB Player of the Week. Madeja, a 5'10" Outside Hitter, led Carthage to wins over Edgewood, #16 Elmhurst, and #2 WashU. The win over WashU gives Carthage its first Regional title in school history.
Madeja led Carthage with 32 kills in the three matches and helped anchor a group that only allowed three receive errors during the weekend. Her 14 kills against WashU helped her team rally from an 0-2 deficit. For her efforts, she was named NCAA Regional Most Outstanding Player.
Madeja, a senior, is a three-time All-American (2 1st-Team, 1
3rd-Team) and two-time CCIW Conference Player of the Year.
