Lebanon Valley, Juniata, Stevenson Highlight ECAC Division III South Volleyball Awards

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced on Thursday the 2011 ECAC Division III South Women’s Volleyball All-Stars.  Three institutions picked up major individual awards this year: Lebanon Valley College, Juniata College and Stevenson University.  Jamie Hawk of Lebanon Valley was voted the ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, Libby Morrison of Juniata received the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and Christine Isenberg of Stevenson rounded out the individual awards by earning the ECAC Rookie of the Year.

Hawk, a senior from New Cumberland, Pa. (Cedar Cliff), led Lebanon Valley with 387 kills (3.46 k/set, .315). She was named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference/Commonwealth first team as well as earning the MAC- Commonwealth Player of the Year. Additionally, Hawk was named to the 2011 American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III all-region team for the Mid-Atlantic Region.  She is the only MAC-Commonwealth player to be selected to the all-region team.  She recently was named an Honorable Mention All-America selection by the AVCA.

A senior libero from Portland, Ore. (Oregon Episcopal School), Morrison repeated as the Landmark Conference Player and Specialist of the Year.  She was also named to the All-Landmark first team.  Morrison had 631 digs, averaging 6.07 per set and 34 aces in 2011. Morrison was awarded with AVCA All-America second-team honors. This is the second time she has received All-America honors as she earned third team selection in 2010.

Isenberg, a sophomore from Taneytown, Md. (Francis Scott Key), was named the Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year for 2011. She led the team and the CAC in kills and ranked second in digs.  Isenberg received AVCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honorable mention honors for her play in 2011. Isenberg and teammate Jessica Gieselman became Stevenson’s first-ever all-region selections in the program’s 14-year history.
