Elmhurst Wins Pair at Oskosh Triangular
OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Elmhurst College women's volleyball team upped its record to 5-1 overall after sweeping a pair of matches at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Triangular.
The Bluejays opened play with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-22 victory over
the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Elmhurst finished the
sweep by toppling UW-Oshkosh 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17.
ELMHURST 3, UW-STEVENS POINT 0 - Elmhurst won its
third straight match by blanking UW-Stevens Point in three sets.
Kaitlyn
Wilks led the Bluejays' offense with 13 kills
and five blocks. Megan
Reynolds added 11 kills and seven blocks for the
Bluejays. Marci
Novak chipped in with six kills and eight digs while
Erin
Thill totaled a team-leading 23 assists and two aces.
Perrie
Morgan added a team-leading 27 digs in the Bluejays'
victory.
ELMHURST 3, UW-OSHKOSH 1 - The Bluejays upped
their record to 5-1 with a four-set victory over the host Titans.
Elmhurst jumped out to a quick two-set lead, before the Titans
rallied to take the third set. The Bluejays pulled away to take the
fourth and decisive set 25-17. Reynolds slammed down 17 kills in
only 22 attempts, hitting a whopping .727 for the match. She added
a team-leading five blocks in the victory. Wilks and Antonéya
Veasy Smith added nine kills apiece for the Bluejays.
Taylor
Rasmussen chipped in with seven kills and four blocks.
Morgan led the squad in digs with 24 while Thill totaled 34 assists
and two aces.
Elmhurst travels to North Central College on Wednesday, September
14.
