Hanover handles Marian to even record
Hanover College’s volleyball squad evened its record at 4-4 with a four-game victory against Marian University. The tilt was played Monday, Sept. 12, in Collier Arena.
After dropping the first game, Hanover rallied to defeat the Knights, 22-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.
Senior hitters Abby Merritt (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Jennifer Wullenweber (Milan, Ind.), along with junior Ashleigh Burakiewicz (Greenwood, Ind.), each posted double-digit kills to lead the Panthers’ attack.
Merritt had a team-high 13 kills, while Wullenweber and Burakiewicz tallied 10 kills apiece.
Sophomore return specialist Kylie Justus (Crawfordsville, Ind.) racked up a team-best 26 digs. Merritt added 19 and Burakiewicz had 13 digs.
Sophomore setter Stacey Sorgius (Indianapolis, Ind.) totaled 34 assists and chipped in with three block assists.
Junior Sarah Quebe (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the front line with six total blocks.
