FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The 16th-ranked Puget Sound volleyball team suffered its first defeat of the season on Friday in a 25-19, 16-25, 25-16, 25-22 loss at Pacific. The Boxers (8-4, 2-1 NWC) hit .309 in the match to key the upset.
The Loggers (11-1, 3-1 NWC) got off to a slow start, hitting -.062 in the first set. In the second set, the Loggers rebounded with a .455 hitting percentage to even the match at 1-1. However, the next to sets belonged to the Boxers as they captured the win.
Alexa Block led all hitters with 21 kills while Kelsy Takashima added 16 kills for the Boxers and hit .519.
With a midweek win at No. 19 PLU on Wednesday, the Loggers will not take the floor again until next Friday when they travel to Whitworth.
