STEVENS POINT - The UWSP volleyball team posted their 16th
consecutive win on Monday evening at Berg Gym with a 3-1 victory
over visiting Edgewood.
The Eagles got off to a quick start by stealing game one 25-23,
but the Pointers rattled off back-to-back-to-back wins in
convincing fashion to keep the 2011 squad's winning streak
alive.
Christina
Brinkman, who leads the Pointers in kills on the season,
added another 17 to her ledger, while Alexis
Hartman chipped in with 42 assists for the purple and
gold netters.
Coach White and her team will take one day off before heading to
La Crosse on Wednesday, where the Pointers (24-6, 6-1 WIAC) will
finish off their conference slate with a match up against the
Eagles. With a win on the road, the Pointers would clinch at
least a share of the WIAC regular season title. That contest,
along with several others on the WIAC docket this week, will have a
major impact on the Pointers' seed for the 2011 WIAC Tournament,
which begins on November 1.
