Loggers Open Season With Sweep Of UW-Stout

TACOMA, Wash. – Jackie Harvey tallied 13 kills to boost the No. 22 Puget Sound volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of UW-Stout on Friday in the opening match of the Puget Sound Volleyball Tournament. The Loggers hit .312 as a team en route to the 25-10, 25-20, 25-16 victory.

Brynn Blickenstaff and Jaime Ecklund each added seven kills to the Loggers effort. Erika Greene dished out 25 assists and added four service aces. As a team, the Loggers tallied 13 service aces to the Blue Devils' six.

The Loggers breezed through the first set but came out slow in the second as the Blue Devils built a 6-1 lead. However, the Loggers fought back to take the set. They kept momentum in the third set to cruise to the victory.

Hope Weilage led the Blue Devils, who hit .078 as a team, with six kills. The Loggers will take the court later today when they face UC Santa Cruz at 3 p.m.
