St. Joseph (Ct.) Downs Becker
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Michelle DiPinto (Burlington, Conn.) had 10 kills and only one hitting error on 24 swings as Saint Joseph College defeated Becker, 3-1 Monday in a non-conference match at Saint Joseph.
Saint Joseph lost the first set, 25-19 and roared back to win the next three, 25-7, 25-19, 25-13.
Amanda Dondero (Mastic, N.Y.) had nine kills for Saint Joseph and Ciara Perez seven. The Blue Jays had 39 kills as a team in the four sets against 21 hitting errors, their best ratio of the season.
Jessica Patrizi (Beacon Falls, Conn.) had six kills and 17 assists for the Blue Jays and Megan Williams (Lakeville, Conn.) had 10 digs.
"It was a great win for us," Saint Joseph College coach Dejshona George said. "We battled back after being down a set and showed what we're capable of."
Saint Joseph improved to 4-9 overall; Becker is 3-11.
Saint Joseph plays at Conn. College Wed. Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. The Blue Jays next play home Oct. 8 against Suffolk and Emerson.
