Volleyball goes 4-0 in SMU tournament

The No. 10-ranked Tommie volleyball team wrapped a 4-0 weekend with two Saturday victories in the season-opening Sugar Loaf Invite in Winona. The Toms scored a 3-0 win over UW-LaCrosse (25-15, 25-18 25-16, then topped St. Scholatica in four games.
Kelly Foley had 17 kills and six blocks in the win over LaCrosse. Jill Greenfield added nine kills and 11 digs. Kaitlain Wachter had 17 digs.

Friday story
UST topped Loras, 25-16, 25-19, 25-15, and held off Nebraska Wesleyan, 25-13, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18.
St. Thomas plays two Saturday matches -- facing St. Scholastica and UW-LaCrosse.
In the four-game win over Nebraska Wesleyan, freshman Kelly Foley had 19 kills and freshman Jill Greenfield added 12 kills and 24 digs. Kaitlain Wachter had 18 digs; Ashley Maher had 49 assists and 10 digs; and KariAnne Nass added three aces and 11 digs.
