Trinity Falls to Fifth-Ranked Eastern and Fourth-Ranked Emory
Atlanta, Georgia - The 16th-ranked Trinity Tigers lost their first matches of the season on Friday, falling to two top-five teams on the opening day of Emory's Doc Partin Classic.
Trinity (5-2) fell 25-22, 25-22, 25-16 to fifth-ranked Eastern
(Pa.) in the first match of the day. Fourth-ranked Emory beat the
Tigers 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 in the second match.
Trinity first-year middle blocker Maggie Emodi led the Tigers in
kills, with eight, in the opener against Eastern. First-year setter
Bridget Bohman amassed 16 assists, and fired in two service aces.
Junior defensive specialist Meredith Erwin accounted for 10 digs,
and first-year middle blocker Erin Cusenbary had three blocks.
Tiger junior outside hitter Madison McMahon led the team in kills
in the Emory match, with eight. Bohman registered 14
assists, Emodi chalked up 12 digs, and Cusenbary blocked three
shots.
The Tigers will take on Wheaton (Ill.) at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time
on Saturday, and Faulkner at 2 p.m.
