Utica Loses Non-Conference Contest At Cazenovia
Cazenovia 3, Utica 1 (25-22, 25-14, 20-25, 25-22)
Cazenovia, N.Y. (9/19/2011) – The Utica College women's
volleyball team made an attempt at a comeback, winning the third
set, but it proved to be too late as the Pioneers lost to host
Cazenovia 3-1 in non-conference play Monday night. Junior Krisztina
Welch and sophomore Liz
Sacco posted a team-high seven kills apiece, while
freshman setter Kellee
Furno added a team-high 23 assists and three service
aces.
Junior Mimi
O'Hara totaled 17 digs for the Pioneers, while freshman
Alyssa
Nicotera totaled a team-high 18 digs and added three
aces.
The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they
take on visiting Oswego State in a non conference matchup at the
Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium at 7 p.m. The Pioneers'
(1-11) lone win of the season came last weekend at the Union
Invitational against Oswego. UC beat the Lakers 3-0
